The Abu Garcia Max 5 SX Winch Low Profile Baitcasting Reel is purpose-built for anglers who prefer the power and control of a low-speed retrieve. Featuring a 5.6:1 gear ratio, this winch-style reel is ideal for deep-diving crankbaits, spinnerbaits, swimbaits, and other resistance-heavy lures where increased cranking torque reduces angler fatigue and improves lure control.

Inspired by the ergonomic design philosophy of Abu Garcia's premium ZENON and Revo series, the Max 5 SX Winch features a compact 33mm spool platform with an asymmetrical body that provides a comfortable, secure grip for improved control during long fishing sessions. The offset thumb rest allows for deeper palming, while the redesigned clutch bar helps prevent accidental engagement when fighting fish.

The reel is equipped with a durable Duragear™ brass gear system for long-lasting performance and dependable cranking power. A smooth 7+1 bearing system, combined with the proven Power Disk™ drag system, delivers consistent performance with a maximum drag of 7kg.

Casting performance is enhanced by Abu Garcia's MagTrax™ magnetic braking system, which provides reliable spool control throughout the cast. The braking force can be fine-tuned by adjusting the internal magnets to suit different casting styles, lure weights, and fishing conditions.

Completing the package is a lightweight 90mm aluminium handle fitted with integrated soft-touch paddle knobs, offering exceptional comfort, grip, and leverage when retrieving high-resistance lures.
