How the Anti-Backlash Flap Works

The EZCast's unique Anti-Backlash Flap System uses a sensor bar to detect excessive line slack during a cast. When slack is detected, the flap automatically rises and engages the spool shaft, slowing spool rotation to help prevent overruns and reduce backlash. Once you've gained confidence with baitcasting, the system can be switched off for traditional reel operation.
