Downrigger Release Fishing Clip
The Downrigger Release Fishing Clip is designed to provide reliable, adjustable line release when trolling with a downrigger system. Built with the same proven functionality as traditional outrigger clips, this model is specifically configured for direct attachment to the downrigger cable above the weight, ensuring consistent performance and precise depth control.
The clip is installed by threading one side onto the downrigger cable and securing it with a crimp before passing the cable through the remaining half of the clip. Once the cable is terminated at the cannonball snap, the clip should be positioned approximately one foot above the downrigger weight and swaged securely in place. For optimal operation, the adjustment slider must be oriented downward toward the bail.
The stainless steel release bail provides smooth, dependable line release, while the adjustable tension slider allows anglers to fine-tune release pressure to suit different line classes and trolling conditions. For best results, the fishing line should be twisted five to ten times before being placed over the release bail, ensuring secure hold and clean release on strike.
