The Dark Water series is a premium line of offshore fishing rods developed by Daiwa, specifically for experienced East Coast anglers. Manufactured in our own Daiwa facility, these twenty-one models combine sleek aesthetics with top-tier performance. The development of this range involved extensive input from local guides, tournament pros, tackle shop owners, and staff — ensuring every rod is fine-tuned for real-world use.

Purpose-built for species like Kingfish and Sailfish, the rods are available in both spinning and conventional configurations. Each model is tailored with species-specific lengths and actions, including dedicated Tournament Kingfish and Tournament Sailfish designs. The Kingfish models are equipped with an innovative carbon fiber slick-butt for improved strength and reduced weight, while the DW70 Sailfish Prospect features a lightweight blank and guide train to minimize fatigue during long stints at the rail.

These rods deliver a refined, parabolic bend that maintains consistent pressure on gamefish of all sizes. Daiwa’s advanced X45 Bias Wrap Construction enhances blank strength and eliminates twisting under load, ensuring optimal power and control.
