DEPS SAKAMATASHAD 7" SOFT BAIT

DEPS SAKAMATA SHAD 7" SOFT BAIT

The Deps Sakamata Shad 7" is a premium soft stickbait designed to create an aggressive bouncing and darting action that triggers reaction bites from predatory bass. Built with Deps’ signature hydrodynamic profile, the Sakamata Shad features smooth flowing body lines, side keels, and a forked tail that work together to imitate a fleeing baitfish with lifelike movement.

When rigged weightless, the lure produces an erratic skipping and jumping action near the surface, closely mimicking panicked baitfish such as ayu or dace. It is equally effective when worked lower in the water column on rigs such as split shot or Carolina rigs, where its sharp darting and sudden directional changes can provoke aggressive strikes from bass.

The 7" model is available in both Normal Material and Heavy Weight Material options, giving anglers the flexibility to match presentation style, depth, and fishing conditions. The normal version offers responsive movement and lighter action, while the heavyweight version increases casting weight and enhances mid-water to bottom-range performance.

Design Highlights

Side Keels
The keels on both sides of the body deflect water downward, helping create the lure’s unique upward bouncing action while also stabilising the darting movement.

Forked Tail
The split tail moves naturally during retrieves and darting presentations, adding realism and enhancing the baitfish profile.

Hook Setting Assist
A built-in guide on the body makes it easier to rig the bait straight, helping maximise action and hook-up performance.

Heavy Weight Option
The heavy version is built for improved casting and effective performance from mid-depth to bottom presentations, making it a great option when more weight and stability are needed.

Application

Ideal for bass anglers fishing weightless, split shot, Carolina rigs, and other reaction-style presentations. Excellent for surface-near darting retrieves, mid-water twitching, and deeper presentations where an erratic fleeing baitfish action is needed.
