The Kamakura sharpening process delivers a precision-honed hook point that rivals the sharpness of a hand-sharpened hook—without the time and effort. Each hook is flawlessly sharp and ready to use straight out of the box, offering consistent performance every time.

The Wide Gape X is an enhanced version of the classic Wide Gape pattern, constructed with a thicker gauge wire for added strength. Despite its robust build, it features a much finer and sharper point than the standard X hook, making it incredibly effective—but delicate. Due to the ultra-fine points, replacing your hook after every fish is often necessary.

This pattern includes a slightly in-turned eye, short shank, strong forged bend, and a beaked point—designed for secure hook holds and optimal penetration. Suitable for a wide range of pop-up and bottom bait rigs, the Wide Gape X is renowned for its hooking reliability and staying power.

Each point is protected with a removable wax blob for safety and comes neatly packed in a protective box that secures all 10 hooks individually.
