The Mares SXS Octopus is an ultra-compact, lightweight, and high-performance alternate air source designed for divers who want a streamlined and travel-friendly setup. As one of the most compact octopus models from Mares, the SXS is ideal for travelling divers, recreational divers, and anyone looking to reduce bulk without compromising breathing comfort.

SXS stands for Second eXtra Small, highlighting the extremely compact and lightweight design of this second stage. Made from ultra-lightweight technopolymer, the SXS Octopus offers excellent comfort in the mouth and is easy to stow neatly in a BCD pocket thanks to its slim profile.

The SXS Octopus is highly versatile and can be configured for right or left-side hose routing with a few simple adjustments. Its curved bypass tube and larger internal diameter help deliver high airflow, while Mares’ patented VAD Vortex Assisted Design provides smooth and natural breathing at any depth.

Mares has also included a specially designed deflector to optimise the Venturi effect and help reduce the risk of free-flow, giving divers smoother and more controlled inhalation during use.
